Species: Black-throated Parrotbill - Paradoxornis nipalensis humei - Adult
Date: 2nd April 2013
Location: Singalila National Park, West Bengal, India
Habitat: Ringal Bamboo (2600m).
Status: Least concern.
Remarks: The approaching calls of warble, cheeps and trills and soft si...si..,si in the background. Moving like mini-missiles in darkness of the days shadow, darting about clutching at the shoots of the Malingo Bamboo, skittish in behavior, allowing fleeting glimpses only, and gone. It was about fifteen Black-throated Parrotbills in the company of four to five Fulvous Parrotbills (Paradoxornis fulvifrons), the latter displaying ivory-fulvous bellies and longish tails.

Gunjan
