Thank you for your observation. Unfortunately, I am not in a position to clinch it as I did not hear the call amidst the louder calls of other birds around and on the same tree (bulbuls, tailorbird, sunbird, barbets, brahmny mynas, parakeets, etc.).
It would be educative to know, in addition to your experience of this bird and its jizz, why exactly you will distinguish this from Sulphur-bellied. As far as I am concerned, I am happy with either!
Would much appreciate any other views.
Thank you.

Sushmita

I have seen Tickell's leaf warbler at close quarters in Itanagar where it is fairly common. I must say that it certainly resembles TLW.
TLW's call is distinctive. If you could play the call on xeno-canto website that could be a clincher.
TLW could also be out of range?

After confirmation of Nuthatch-like behaviour, he confirmed it to be the former. So here are the images again - just in case anyone else has an alternative view, with no offence meant to Saurabh and his expertise.--Seen from my balcony on a fruiting ficus tree yesterday.Sushmita JhaSouth Delhi
