[BirdPhotoIndia] Crested Serpent Eagle, Chamoli district (Uttarakhand)

After the village of Jhenji we reached a beautiful suspension bridge, beyond which was a barren, rocky hillside that we climbed in the blistering heat. After a particularly tough patch of rock climbing (made tougher by monkeys starting an avalanche above us!), I was surprised to see this Crested Serpent Eagle soaring above, being chased by a few crows.

Shot during the Kuari Pass trek, enroute Jhenji to Pana village (Chamoli district, Uttarakhand), 26 May 2013.

Cheers,
Garima
