A trip to dadri on Sat 10 Aug. Aim was to see the Quail and the Grassbird. Birds seen at the start-Pied Starling, Prinia, Pipit and larks, weaver Baya, green bee eater etc. Before reaching the village a pair of Barred Button quails were seen. We had just taken a Uturn and just 15 ft from the car the Quail was busy foraging and did not seem to be bothered that the car was so close, then it moved back into the  bush.
Other birds seen, Woolly necked, egret intermediate, Black breasted weaver, red munis, Black headed Munia, Kingfiher, wire tailed Swallow, Bushlark Bengal, Pipit, Collard Dove, Purple swamp hen, Jacana, Lesser whistling duck, greater Coucal and the Black Francolin Male and female
The Bristled Grass bird was in full in full form and we saw three different nesting areas. In one case the grass bird perched just 10-15 feet from where we were standing. On Sunday a Dr Gupta had gone to dadri and they have reported seeing the Grassbird Chick. Second time this has been seen In dadri and almost the same area two yrs back.
