[BirdPhotoIndia] Red-necked Phalaropes

At Chrakla salt pans, Gujarat. 1 Jan'14.
More than a dozen phalaropes were seen over quite sometime, flying around, landing on the water, doing a funny dervish like dance of rapidly going round and round. Apparently this movement forms a whirlpool and aids in raising food from shallow water. I have a video that captures this charming activity.
