Remarks: Observing birds in their industrious activity in rearing up new life can be most gratifying. They are not only most protective and secretive about their young, they also display outstanding determination to intimidate intruders. That was exactly the intent of this parent in gorgeous uniform when a Collared Owlet (Glaucidium brodiei) perched itself somewhere near the nest.
