[BirdPhotoIndia] Ward's Trogon

Ward's Trogon male | Eaglenest WLS, Arunachal Pradesh | 03.02.2014

This species of trogon is also known as the "Phantom of the Forest" as seeing and photographing it is so very rare and a matter of extremely good luck. This was my first visit to this forest and I feel extremely happy to have seen this (both male and female) and that too without much of a difficulty (apart from a tough trek in the mixed broadleaved evergreen forest).

This is one of the most sought after species in Eaglenest as they are highly range restricted. The photographic quality is not up to the mark as the light was extremely low, which is how it is generally in this type of forest.
