Re: (delhibirdpix) Keshopur and Shalla Pattan wonderful wetlands in district Gurdaspur- Punjab

Dear navjit,
I am attaching a image from Google earth. You can get the images for the last 5 years to show the water body during Monsoon and during the winter. Which means that the water body is a year long water body and good for the birds

Dear Anand Ji & Vijay Ji,
We have started documenting these Wetlands including their biotope, soil composition, grasses, habitat etc. which cause these birds to choose to come here historically.
We have some old records and would adding current survey records to them.
The way forward, to my mind, is to convince the MoEF at the Centre  to buy this land by paying adequate compensation to the farmers as the Punjab Forest Dept. says it has no money (or will ?) to acquire.
Thanks & looking forward to your advice.
Regards- Navjit

I would also suggest that the maps from google earth be downloaded for the
current status and the past 5 years as records. Pictures like the one
posted will add to the strength when the matter is taken up. Google earth
images are of great help
