Hi..
A shortie covering the Khoribari water bodies yesterday (27/03/14) afternoon left us with the following updates :
The Godwits are here. Saw a pair of Black-Tailed wading amongst Spotted Redshanks, Pied Avocets and other assorted smaller waders.
The Spotted Redshanks have started attaining breeding plumage and hopefully should be shining black by mid-April.
Spotted a group of Painted Storks (a group of eight birds) among Egrets and Grey Herons.
Avocets sill reign supreme. A total count of 400+ birds was made.. spread out over an area of 4 sq.kms largely in three flocks along with 200+ Black-Winged Stilts in a particular conglomeration.
It was nice to look at cute looking Red-Collared Doves flying to and fro around us when we were sitting on the bank and watching the waders.
Please excuse the slightly oversized attachment of the Khoribari habitat.
Cheers!
Caesar.
