(delhibirdpix) That turquoise blue bird

That turquoise blue bird-----

Verditer Flycatcher- (male)- I was very eager to get shots this beautiful bird in my city last winter when it visits as a migrant, but couldnt get any shot- due to various reasons. At last, got what I wanted in the pristine montane forests of Lava outskirts. Although common in the hills, they mostly perch high up in the trees or at a great distance, and fly away at the slightest suspicion. Fortunately this individual allowed me to approach within few metres to take this shot.
Location: Lava outskirts. Darjeeling district.

Canon 60D. May-2014
