(delhibirdpix) That beautiful Elf of the Bamboo Forests

That beautiful Elf of the Bamboo Forests---

Its one of the fastest hill birds and hence very difficult to capture. In the words of respected birder Mr.Bikram Grewal---" These avian miniature jet-fighters just zoom through the bamboo at high speed and never seem to sit still."
I was extremely elated to get this Lifer in Neora Valley-- after a lot of disappointment during my Arunachal trip last year. Thankfully this individual gave me a few seconds.

Black-throated Parrotbill-- one more frame.
Neora Valley National Park. 7000 feet.
Darjeeling district. West Bengal hills.
May-2014 Canon 60D

Happy Janmasthami to all

Shantanu.
