Location: Chitkul – Rakhcham WLS, Himachal Pradesh. India
Coordinates:31.3919°N, 78.35°E. Altitude: 3130 Masl.
Habitat : Sub-alpine shrubs.
Status: Least Concern.
Remarks: A fairly common breeder in this area between May-August (was absent in Oct. 2013), though often heard than seen. It prefers sub-alpine shrubs and dwarf trees strewn with rocks and boulders on flattish tracks of land. Singing males were found usually perched on horizontal branches above mid-storey of trees and bushes, often fanning and cocking their tails, revealing rufous basal panels.
