(delhibirdpix) Piculets

The bird-rich roadside shrubs and trees just past Hayuliang yielded both Piculets in quick succession. The White-browed flew in and sat on an insect nest of dry leaves, dipped its head and pulled out grubs ferociously for several minutes. Every now and then, it looked at us with its beautiful pink eyes, while we watched enthralled.
Soon the Speckled Piculet appeared too, though it looked less industrious than its cousin!
