This snowfinch that I was so keen to see, did not disappoint. At an altitude of 17,100 feet, against a breath-taking view of the Gurudongmar Lake in North Sikkim, the Rufous-necked Snowfinch gave us five ladies good views.
-- The thick black line along the edge of its wing is visible when not concealed by its feathers in the strong wind. This black mark is is not shown or mentioned in the field guides it seems.
