-- There were quite a few Rufous-necked Snowfinches near the Gurudongmar Lake, North Sikkim (altitude 17,100 feet). There I spotted this bird rolling its head against a rock for quite some time. Earlier, I have seen this particular behaviour in other birds too, like Desert Wheatear. In the case of Desert Wheatear, I was almost certain that it was associated with some kind of mating display but I am not certain this time regarding this Snowfinch. Experts comments will be much appreciated.
