(delhibirdpix) The Commoners - # 179 - Common Babbler (Turdoides caudata) - 2015-094

This place near Jhajjar, Haryana, India is home to many
Francolins - both Black and Grey.  The Highlight of the day
were the Black Francolins - Many Pairs, A Family with 7 Chicks,
and good, close views of Male and Female - was not so lucky with
the chicks.

And then, while exploring we found a village pond promising delights
in season as it was occupied at the moment by Spot-Billed Ducks,
Common Moorhens and Little Grebes - all three in breeding.  Some
chicks already there and more in the 'nests'.

The path running through the fields ready for sowing, produced a few
on the bushes.

A Common Babbler that I have not been able to photograph for a long
time and have not share on these fora since 2008

Taken on 17th May 2015 at Jhajjar, Haryana, India.

Cheers.
