(delhibirdpix) The Commoners - # 180.13 - Oriental Pratincole (Glareola maldivarum) - 2015-128

Taken in fields a little beyond Basai, Gurgaon Haryana, India  on 23rd June 2015.

There was successful breeding in the area last year. On 7th, a nest had two eggs.

On 19th, expected to see the chicks but none was aroung though we found two more

nests - one with two eggs and the other with just one.

Alas, this morning just found a pair of Pratincoles - could not locate the nests.

There were no dogs  and a little further away a crow was being chased buy

Red-wattled Lapwings.  The nests were so well hidden.  Just too bad.

A Full-frame shot from the front though last time they just would not pose

to give me what I wanted.
