(delhibirdpix) Tiny Loudspeaker of Nature

The Tiny Loudspeaker of Nature

Common Tailorbird- (Orthotomus sutorius)-
Got shots of this common but seldom-photographed bird yesterday afternoon while birding from my balcony. I was taking shots of an eclipse male purple sunbird- that was collecting nectar from the blossoms of a Mexican Oleander tree, and was also waiting for the male Shikra that is frequenting my locality for the last few days

Suddenly a pair of Tailorbirds arrived and perched on the telegraph wire- moving to n fro constantly- while emitting loud loud cheeup-cheeup-cheeup calls. I think this is probably the first decent shot of this tiny bird I have taken till date. I have seen it many a times near my house but never got a decent image owing to its extremely restless and fidgety nature.

Location: Santoshpur. Kolkata.
