poll to be concluded soon would reveal. It also happens to be the
State Bird of U.P. the most populous State in the Country.
It was, therefore, heartening to see and hear the nesting by three
pairs of Sarus at different locations this season. Indeed, it was a
great experience to see on Sarus sitting on its Egg (Dadri); and
another chick would possibly have materialised right in front of me
had I waited at the spot where the Sarus was sitting in incubating
position and a while later when I returned, the chick was seen
(Hasanpur); and the third was the report in end August of a nest seen
and a few days later the nest not being there but two chicks
materialising (Sultanpur).
Been pining to see the Sutanpur chicks, which are now no longer chicks
but as tall as the Parents. Would say about three months old now.
Here is an image made on 20th at Sultanpur. Apologies for larger
dimension but the image is 185kb at 30% quality on my system.
Cheers.
