Species: Baikal Teal - Anas formosa - Male
Date: 11th April 2013
Location: Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary, Haryana, India
Habitat: Water body at the park.
Status: Least concern.
Remarks: This rarity to our region, recorded only a couple of times was spotted this year in December once, then it was reported by Delhi birders on the 7th of April. The lake at the park has shrunk and the bird was found skulking under the canopy of a Valaiti Keekar (prosopis juliflora), it's just a matter of time when this charmer takes on to its onward journey to where is yet another question.

Gunjan
