(delhibirdpix) Baikal Teal Vagrant in Sultanpur

Species: Baikal Teal (Anas formosa)
Location: Sultanpur National Park, Haryana
Date and Time: 11 April 2013. 8:35 AM
Equipment: Nikon D800 with Nikkor 500mm f/4 and Tc 1.4X
Note: The bird was seen in Sultanpur sometime in Dec 2012 for a few days and then vanished. It resurfaced again in April and was first noted by KB Singh and party on Sunday the 8th of April 2013. We found it today morning after much searching. It is just one lone male bird, keeping its own company. Generally rests on small islands in the lake, preferring to remain in the shade. Rather sulking and shy, easily disturbed by any movement around.
Regards,
Koshy
