Bill, do have a look at these pics of Smoky as well. These were taken at the same place ie Basai on 22 December. The Yellow center to the throat is very clear.
Dusky Warbler never shows yellow on underparts and so that can be ruled out. By the way I believe I saw a Dusky Warbler in Sanjay Van on 21 December. I could not manage a photo but I saw the bird well through binocs. On Wed, Dec 24, 2014 at 11:05 PM, Bill Harvey <billharve@gmail.com> wrote:
These are better pics but still fuzzy. It is certainly not dark enough for Smoky (which is not just an unusual visitor to the Delhi area, it has never been reliably recorded there!). Apart from its colour, its supercilium is much too long and prominent and its legs are not dark enough for Smoky (or indeed either Chiffchaff).regards Bill
I think it could be a Dusky Warbler which has been claimed for the Delhi area but never conclusively proven. Certainly there are reliable records further west than the very north eastern Smoky.--On Sun, Dec 21, 2014 at 4:07 PM, 'pankajgupta_fm@yahoo.co.in' via delhibirdpix <delhibirdpix@googlegroups.com> wrote:thanks for your reply..sending two more pic..not sure if it is the same individual....

Basai, Gurgaon, Dec 2014An uncommon winter visitor to DelhiHabit:- Unlike other Leaf warbler found in Delhi, which inhabit trees or rocky areas... it is been seen at Basai. Today this warbler was seen feeding on the water hyacinth(*not eating it *) which was surrounded by Thypa grass. It has a di-syllables call...much weaker than the call of moustached or blyth's reed warbler.
