(delhibirdpix) Warbler for ID

Hello all,

Taken today at Raj Bhavan, Nagpur, by Ms. Sneha Gupta. While I am nearly certain that it is a Tickell's Leaf, the photographer has her bets on Sulphur-bellied. Would hence like to have more comments on this.

Thanks,
Rohan

Third time lucky - was finally able to photograph the Ward's Trogon in Mishmi Hills, Arunachal Pradesh on 2 Nov'15. The sighting was excellent - the male played a bit hard to get but not so the female. At one point there were two pairs flying about at once !

(delhibirdpix) Fwd: Okhla Article HT 10th Nov 15 - Okhla Bird Sanctuary - ESZ

The news was put out by PTI and is in almost all newspapers.  This is a bit
erroneous.

Let me put down what happened in the NGT yesterday.

I had argued before the the NGT yesterday that a 'Stay be put on Transfer
of Flats lest the Balance of Justice moves away from the Investors in
Flats.  Investors have committed no illegality. Illegality, in our contention
is committed by Project proponets in collusion with Government Authorities.
Should the NGT, and later Supreme Court, hold this construction  illegal
then the Penalties should be on Project Proponents and the Government
Authorities.  Once the Investor has taken possession of the flat in way they
would get their money back and loose their investment representing their
life's savings.  My argument was to save Investors in Flats.

In response to this, NGT had asked NOIDA to inform the Investors in flats
that the matter is sub-judice both at NGT and SC.

We will probably have an NGT Decision, which again would be subject to final
judgement by Supreme Court, on 3rd or 4th December when the case is listed for final
hearing.

BTW, you would be interested in knowing how the limits of ESZ got reduced
to 100 Meters.  Noida had asked for a Status Paper from  some one who calls
himself an Expert as also a great supporter of a ESZ to be 10 KMs.

But what  he write in the Status Report is fantastic.  He states that the
problems of OBS are 'INTERNAL' and can be managed through proper
'management'.  Apparently, the so called expert does not seem to understand the
concept of and why an ESZ is mandated and has probably not even read the
Pranab Sen Report on ESZ (Indeed a Master-piece of a Report) or he would never
make this kind of a comment. NOIDA has used this 'sentence' as the basis for
reducing the limits to 100 Meters.

What an Expert.

I am looking forward to arguments at NGT again on 3rd and 4th December.

Cheers.

Anand Arya

[BirdPhotoIndia] Ampeliceps coronatus

Apologies for exceeding the kb limit but I had to show you the way I saw them - first a distant shot of the whole tree with 16 of these Golden-crested Mynahs ( there were four more on a tree next to this one) and then a slightly closer shot with nine of them and finally of one that flew to a tree closer to the road after the whole flock had flown away, thereby giving a wonderful photo op. I was so yearning to see them that it felt like a dream come true.
