(delhibirdpix) The Commoners - # 108.01 - Red Munia (Amandava amandava) - 2010-090

Surprise of surprises. I have not shared an image of this real
'commoner' since May 1, 2008 - difficult to believe.

This is or rather was perhaps the most common birds found in my
backyard - the Okhla Bird Park and easily one of the most photographed.

With all the changes ( or destructions) in the habitat at OBP, this is
not a common and every day sighting there. So, I was quite elated to
see the bird in perfect morning light at Basai on 4th.
