(delhibirdpix) Dadri Wetlands-20 Jun'10-1

Pied Bushchat Saxicola caprata

Rufous Winged Bushlark Mirafra assamica

A visit to Dadri on Sunday was not as good as one normally was used to in dadri. The cutting of the tall grass around the road and along the canaql has deprived the Munias (Red, Black Headed), weavers, Scally breasted etc are all missing. The black breasted were seen in small flocks and were closer to the canal as there is no water body left in Dadri barring the canal. The crakes seems to have multiplied and to see about four to 5 at one given time id no longer unusual as was seen in the last visit also. The Common Kingfisher that was seen almost all visits has vanished since the construction started. A major loss, similarly the Sarus was not seen or heard during the visit. All the same some birds and some images are always possible at dadri

A large number of Pied Bushchat Juv chasing the mom for food. You could the mom feeding and rushing of for more food for the hungry mouths, and the juv chasing the mom all over the place
