showed up carrying a juicy morsel. The hunger of the 3 chicks seemed
insatiable, and we watched as the male and female kept returning every
few minutes with feed for the little ones. The light was harsh, with
the sun directly overhead, and we resolved to reach the spot earlier
in the day during our return from Nubra 2 days hence. The story had a
sad ending however, as we could find no sign of the chicks in the nest
on our return journey... and we were left wondering if they had flown
(unlikely) or disaster had befallen the family.
