[BirdPhotoIndia] Buxa Hills birds-5

The trip to the hills of Buxa Tiger Reserve in north Bengal was simply
excellent. Five of us stayed at Jayanti for one day, took bath in the
river and enjoyed the evening walk along the river bed fringed by
dense forest. Then we climbed to Sadarbazar, a small settlement in the
Buxa hills. We stayed at Rover's Inn resort for th next 2 days, and
planned to visit the different hills and villages from there in search
of birds and butterflies.

Me and my colleague Ruma Chakraborty hired a guide from Sadarbazar,
and started our trekking towards Tashigaon. Our final destination
however was a high peak called Rover's Point. Joy sir and his wife
accompanied us till the Buxa Fort, after which they cudnt climb
anymore.
The path was very narrow, steep and rugged. So we had to take rest from
time to time. We enjoyed watching the lovely butterflies and birds on
our way. Almost after an hour of exhausting trek, we finally reached
the picturesqueTashigaon village. We took some rest to regain energy
in the compound of a small Gumpha, and finished our breakfast over
there. Cool breeze was blowing, and the weather was clear.
The entire forested plains of Buxa-Rajabhatkhawa crisscrossed by many
rivers, cud be seen from the Gumpha. The scenic beauty of the Buxa
hills was breathtaking. Then we advanced slowly towards Rover' point.

This Dark-sided Flycatcher was spotted at Tashigaon. The tiny bird
caught insects mid-air and returned back to the same branch. And it
gave us enough photo opportunity.
