Common Name: Common Myna
Species Name: Acridotheres tristis
Location: Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh
Date taken: 02.10.2010
Equipments: Nikon D90 + Nikkor 70-300mm AF VR Zoom
Special Remarks: I have been coming across bald-headed Common Mynas quite commonly since the past few days. While researching the cause, I could find very few definite explanations of this balding phenomenon. Moulting, fighting, nutrient deificiencies, and mites have been cited as some of the factors that may contribute to the shedding of feathers. Would be glad to recieve any additional inputs from experts.
