(delhibirdpix) Flowerpeckers - Pale-billed and Thick-billed

Hi,

In this mail:

Pale-billed Flowerpecker (Dicaeum erythrorhynchos) - The commonest Flowerpecker over here and found everywhere, including gardens, trees by busy roads, woodland, etc.

Thick-billed Flowerpecker (Dicaeum agile) - A bird I have been trying to find for months now and this was my first sighting of one. I have no idea about how common it is in this part of India though I believe it is not as often reported as other known flowerpeckers of the area (Pale-billed in the plains, and Plain Flowerpecker in the Western Ghats), which is interesting since the field guides generally depict is as something which should be found in good numbers.

Both pics today (28 November 2010) and from the same tree. In Manipal, Karnataka, India.

Camera: Canon SX10 IS.

Flowerpeckers are extremely restless little birds and this is the best I could manage with my camera given the light conditions!
