today morning I visited the wetlands of Kalikapur with friend
Parikshit in search of the marsh birds.
We waited at the edge of the marsh, and soon we spotted a brownish
bird emerged out of the reeds, and started foraging. It was the
secretive Ruddy breasted Crake...a lifer for me. I had heard about
this bird...but never seen it. It was an extremely shy bird and
preferred to hide among the grasses. Expecting to get better shots
next time.
