[BirdPhotoIndia] Juvenile White Throated Kingfisher

It has been raining quite a lot for 2 days now. My daughter's school bus did not arrive and we took the judicious decision of trotting back home – it's school not university.

The moment we entered our building, the watchman came up with this child. Crows that were dead bent on making a meal out of it had harassed it. Shaken and not yet strong enough to fly, this young Kingfisher was very agitated. We allowed it to rest. I went up to get my gear and took images to my heart's content. The bird obliged me, once it was calm. I even got to shoot it full frame with my 50mm lens!

At around 8am, when the crows had scattered, we left it at a pond side. A pair of adults was nearby. Hopefully parents and child will reunite.

Today morning in my apartment block parking lot.
