With great difficulty we picked up a female Long-billed Plover on a rainy (& last) morning in Shangti valley near Dirang. You can see its camouflage even when frozen with an 800mm lens (plus a converter making it an effective 1140mm not counting the sensor crop!). Suddenly, a highly vocal male landed close to the female and they both took off upriver.
Attaching pictures of a male and a female (incl. a vertical composition of the female that shows the superb camouflage).
Cheers,
