We got very lucky with this alpine bird when a pair landed very close to us (~30 ft) while we were trying to photograph a Grey-side Bush-warbler. As luck would have it, my camera died (it was freezing cold and we had walked a long distance from the car) and the bird patiently sat there while I was fidgeting with my camera controls. Eventually, I grabbed Shashank's 20D and fitted my lens and converter and fired a few frames!
