(delhibirdpix) The Commoners - # 148 - Streak-throated Swallow (Hirundo fluvicola) - 2011-165

Made another visit to Dadri. The water is completely evaporated except for about 50 sq meters, which help about a half dozen Painted Storks.
Along the water channel, there was activity - Sarus, Painted Storks, Egrets, Herons, some Spot-billed ducks in a field freshly irrigated.

Highlights were Brown Crakes, An Indian Spotted Eagle (a pair looks like nesting somewhere in the area) and a Little Ringed Plover.

The field where Bristled Grassbird nested has seen all the grass, reeds, bushes all burnt out.

Hope fully the rains come early, as predicted, and are heavy to give Dadri another lease for one more season.

Here is a Streaked-Throated Swallow,

Cheers.
