(delhibirdpix) Grey-capped Pygmy Woodpecker- Jainty-1

Hi
This 5 inch woodpecker is one of the many denizens of Jainty, Buxa Tiger Reserve, and its funny activities are worth-watching.
It will turn its tiny head in every possible direction to extract insects from beneath the bark...and sometimes it will hang upside down like a perfect acrobat.
this one was spotted on a dead tree on the Jainty riverbed on 8th June evening. It was busy in its work almost ignoring my presence.

regards
Shantanu.
