Hi Folks, After a long gap yesterday I was able to provide some time for bird watching. Last morning I spent two hours of morning near the ruins of Gaur, the ancient capital of Bengal. Though we saw generally common species, but was excited to see two unidentified waders, a flock of Barn Swallow.There I saw a pair of this Cotton Pygmy-goose perched on a banyan tree, close to Firoz Minar. The commoners were as follows 1) Little and Indian Cormorant. 2) Unidentified Pratincole( In flight) 3) Blue-tailed Bee-eater. 4) Zitting Cisticola 5) Rufous-winged Bush-lark 6) Barn Swallow. 7) Pied Cuckoo. 8) Indian Koel 9) Common Hawk-cuckoo 10) Black Drongo 11) Rufous Tree-pie 12) Greater Coucal. 13) Yellow-footed Green-pigeon 14) White-throated Kingfisher 15) Pied Kingfisher 16) Common Kingfisher 17) Stork-billed Kingfisher 18) Common Myna 19) Pied Starling 20) Chestnut-tailed Starling 21) Blue-throated Barbet 22) Shikra 23) Black Kite 24) Little Greeb 25) Rose-ringed Parakeet 26) Red-wattled Lapwing 27) White-breasted Waterhen 28) Indian Silverbill 29) Asian Openbill 30) Spotted Dove.
