Birders Name – WingcoSethi,Col.Sangwan,Nitu,Vikas,Amitabh,Chandra
Bhushan, Stefen,Gunjan,Shobha,Mukesh,Geetha,( Shobha’s Friend) & Yours
Truly & Jagat (Guide)
Statusof Bhindawaas – Good Water in some areas & rest iscovered by
Hyacinth. Road constructions at many places and lot of loose addedmud on
the inside road in the park in a circle of 12 kms.
Statusof Mathenhole – No water at all very- very disappointing.
InterestingSighting En route – After driving 62 kms sighted nearly 40 +
Eurasian Thick Kneesbasking in the centre of a field & on the roof of a
poultry farms on theleft unusual for all of us to see them on the
building roof & were told that thenest here every year. Over 2 dozen
black shouldered kites & couple ofIndian Rollers.
Within park Crested SerpentEagle with a snake, Pair of Osprey, Bonali
Eagle, Greater Spotted Eagle,Eurasian Eagle Owl, Marsh Harrier, and
Shikra
Water Birds- Pair of Tufted Ducks,Mallard, Coots, Gadwals, Northern
Shavellers, Common Poachards & Teals nearfirst Watch Tower. Nearly 70
Grey Legged Geese. Nesting Cormorants (Little& Indian) also darters .3
Heronries on full swing. Alexandrine & Roseringed Parakeets, Black,
Glossy & Black Headed Ibises..Couple of GreenSandpiper and a lone Red
Shank.Pied & White Breasted King Fishers. Apartfrom all common & regular
birds.
NOT a single sighting of anyspecies of LARK.
Mathenhole – LolitarySubadult Sarus,6 Ruddy Shellducks,4 White tailed
Lapwings, Sindh Sparrows i
Food -Salami , Cheese ,Egg ,Jam, Butter Sandwitches, Aloo,Palak &
MethiParanthas,Veg Kebabs& Bread Rolls,Idli,Cake,Mungfali
Patti,Puri,BoiledEggs,Allo Bhijia,Noodles,Sayabean Tikkis Tea & Coffee.
Recommendations – Not tovisit before December because of thin density
of winter visitors from central Asia and & Small cars as roads inside
the park are notgood because of added loose sand.
Thanks friends for kind helpin organizing and co-ordinating the walk
and car pool which worked out very well and spending quality time at
Bhindawaas.
