(delhibirdpix) Turkestan Black-headed Wagtail from Kalikapur

Hi
visited  a marshland near Kalikapur in Kolkata last Sunday with my friend Mr.Debarshi, and we were fortunate to get few shots of the rare winter migrant- the Turkestan Black-headed Wagtail (Motacilla flava melanogrisea)- a subspecies of the yellow wagtail.
There are previous records of this race from Kolkata, but it is seldom spotted. It breeds in the Volga delta around the Caspian sea, and northern Afghanistan.

regards
Shantanu.
