(delhibirdpix) Blyth's Pipit - 3 (Back Streaking)

In Manipal, Karnataka (India) on 7th January 2012.

I have been tracking calls of this bird for over a month now, but finally got good views this time since the grass it favored has recently been burned down as a seasonal fixture. A total of four birds were seen.

I believe the streaking on the back of this bird looks much more well defined as compared to the mottled and shabby streaking on a juvenile Paddyfield Pipit.

Here is a recording of its very distinctive and diagnostic call: http://www.xeno-canto.org/92494
