Dear Friends,
Surajpur near Dadri/Greater NOIDA is a wonderful natural wetland. The same is currently under the relentless developmental (sic) pressures as the enclosed pictures (received courtesy Bahar Dutt) show.
Kindly recall a recent (28 Jan 2011) SC judgment (Jagpal Singh vs State of Punjab) where the Hon'ble Court had specifically directed for the protection of such public spaces and even charged the local authorities with the restoration of water bodies or other public spaces lost to political and other pressures.
But is anyone listening?
