(delhibirdpix) Trip report Sattal-Pangot-Ramnagar-Deolsari-Kanatal

Hi,

Made a circuitous birding trip of Uttranchal and covered Low-medium altitude (2000 ft – 8000 ft) from 23rd of Dec.2011 to 2nd of Jan 2012.  The route taken was Delhi - Sattal – Pangot – Ramnagar – Dehradun – Deolsari – Kanatal - Delhi. The target species were mostly the skulking ones found in the area. The weather was par excellence all through, bar the 31st of Dec when it became heavily overcast and windy in Kanatal resulting in no bird activity. The surprise sighting of the Eurasian Woodcock in Sattal may be termed as the highlight of the trip.
