A scarce winter visitor to this part of the country, this is being seen for the third year in a row now at the same location, a flat laterite hill top the size of two football fields. Numbers have diminished from a flock of 20 two years back, to just 3-4 birds maximum this year. Only saw two females today. There is a lot of disturbance in this area (in the past, I have posted the images of Richard's Pipit and Pale Rock Sparrow from the same location, as nearby construction has led to laborers building a temporary slum here) so I guess the rest of birds are now widespread on the grassy laterite hillslopes.
In Manipal, Karnataka (India) on 25 January 2013.
