Species: Grey-sided Bush Warbler (Cettia brunnifrons)
Location: Dehradun (~960m), Uttarakhand, India
Date: 06 Jan 2013
Remarks: Habitat: Thick forest undergrowth alongside a nullah (stream) rear of the WII campus; a chilly dampened morning, heard a soft almost fading, albeit repeated 'chip chip' call from under a scrubby undergrowth. Upon investigating the source of the sound, we waited for the bird to show up since the call alone was not identifiable, and received a brief view of one the prettiest bush warblers. Heard at least two different individuals, but seen only one.
My sincere thanks to friend and birder Subharanjan Sen for taking us birding in his backyard.
Regards
Puja Sharma
