(delhibirdpix) Indian Skimmer - Dholpur

Species: Indian Skimmer (Rynchops albicollis)

Location: National chambal Sanctuary, Chambal River, District Morena, MP

Date and Time: 22nd March 2013 4:15 PM

Equipment: Nikon D800 with Nikkor 500 mm f/4 lens

Note: Though the Chambal Safari is technically in Madhya Pradesh territory and conducted by the MP Forest Department, the starting point of the safari is near Dholpur a small town in Rajasthan on National Highway 3 between Agra and Gwaliar about 50 KM from Agra. There are some decent hotels in Dholpur, though one can easily travel from Delhi and return the same day.
