Hi..
Our original plan yesterday for an early morning rendezvous at the Chintamani Kar Bird Sanctuary, Narendrapur, had to be aborted on seeing the fleet of cars & two-wheelers near its entry point and so we moved on to the other less frequented birding sites around the Sanctuary along with Shyamkhola & Dinglipota. Our decision in fact, turned out to be quite a prudent one, as very soon, we were greeted by a rather noisy pair of Spotted Owlets and subsequently following a Plaintive Cuckoo's call.. we chanced upon a very generous Brown Hawk Owl couple which not only fulfilled our hearts with a prolonged 'darshan', but, pampered us by posing calmly before our lenses and let us get on with both still & video shoots. A short early morning birding trip to escape the monstrous heat later during the day.. and what a lovely reward, by god !
