Ashy-crowned Sparrow-Lark (male), pre courtship display
Sonkhaliya, Ajmer, Rajasthan
19th August 2013
There was a male and female separated by about 6 feet. Female was carrying some nesting material in her beak. Suddenly female became fluffy, spread her wings and started moving them very finely. Male also assumed similar posture and started shuffling towards the female slowly and then mounted her for about 3-4 seconds. Both of them flew away after this. Female kept holding the nesting material in her beak through out.
