Anand Arya, Wingco Sethi, Abhishek Gulshan, Sudeshna Dey and yours truly took a chance in the hope of the sky clearing up and landed in Basai on Saturday, 1st February. Sun obliged us by 12 noon. The highlight of the day was of course, the Ruddy-breasted Crake giving excellent sightings. The elusive Moustached Warbler showed up several times but only for a short whil. An Yellow Bittern, Isabelline Shrike and Eurasian Wryneck gave nice shots. The Ducks included Shovellers, Pintails and Common as well as Red-crested Pochards. Bar-headed Geese also showed up. Tow hungry Marsh Harries were hunting without much success. Black-headed Ibis were present in good numbers.
-- Two images, one of the Ruddy-breased Crake and another of the Yellow Bittern are attached.
Regards,
Koshy
