This Male Purple Sunbird (Cinnyris asiaticus) in breeding plumage, was captured on 21st March 2014 on the road between Chakki More and Bhoj Nagar, in Solan District of Himachal Pradesh State, N. India.
Whilst the yellow pectoral tufts are absent, this bird has a distinctive maroon band along the boundary of the breast and belly.
