Hi all
Three of us(Wingco,Anand and myself)decided last evening to go to hasanpur wetlands and dadri wetlands today.
First stopover was at hasanpur.Few previously existing water bodies there had yielded to encroachments. Still fair amount of water in few water bodies that were left. The no as well as variety of birds was rather low.
Highlights :solitary common snipe, few river terns, couple of marsh harriers ,bengal bushlark, purple heron, wire tailed swallows(fair no)in addition to common waders and water birds
Next we went to dadri. The scene there pretty nice there inspite of shrinkinhg water bodies due to weather as well as encroachments.
Highlights:
Bar headed geese(nearly 150)seen at close distance(probably collecting before migrating back),
Garganey(nearly 25)
Spotbills(app.50)
Red crested pochard(solitary couple)
shovellers
Black necked stork(single female)
A pair of Sarus crane
An aquila,likely GSE
Purple and grey herons,white ibis
Paddyfield pipit
Oriental sky and crested lark
Thanking you for your attention.Wingco and Anand may please add in case I missed something
Vinod
