Species : Yunnan Nuthatch
-- Place : Helmet Top, Walong, Arunachal Pradesh, India
Date : 13 March 2014
Hopefully the id is correct, experts may please confirm. If so, probably first record of this species for the country. Earlier records mention this species as endemic to China.
We were walking down from the Helmet top to practically look for the Black-browed Tit when we heard some birds calling high up from the Pine trees. Thanks to Chewang for immediately spotting this bird and identifying it as some "nuthatch". After half an hour or so, further down, we again came across a flock of them and got excellent close views too.
